gun control

The right to bear arms I feel is an important part of the constitution. If puts no limits whether male or female. On BBC news there is an article named ‘Annie, get your gun’. It is about a lady and how she used to be terrified of guns she is now holding classes to help teach other females to shoot a gun. I strongly believe in the right to bear arms. I do not think it is right to walk around with an illegal gun and I feel more people should be educated on using a gun. A gun is used for hunting or protection. The article says that it is not the gun but it is the person using the gun who kills. That statement is very true and I believe if you intend to hurt someone than a gun will be used inappropriately. I agree with what she is doing with her knowledge on how to use a gun. I believe if there were more people doing the same I believe the murder rate in certain states would drop. Not only females but also men and woman should be informed. I also feel that there should be a stricter enforcement on how easy it is to get a gun. People should really have to prove how they can function well enough to carry a gun. I just believe that gun control should be better enforced and that guns should not be banned completely. It would be unfair and a complete violation of our rights.

taxation of the rich

On claytoncubitt.com there is an article, which talks about how the wealthy should contribute to helping the poor. More specifically by taking on higher taxes for there properties. I know there are a lot of rich people who disagree with this logic because it is there money. In a way I do not blame them but I feel they can afford to take the cut. The money that they would end up being taxed they probably would never notice it coming out of their salary. There are more people struggling to survive and make it in the economy than there are people that are doing good financially. I feel that some of the people are just rich greedy people. If I were rich I would never mind being charged a little more taxes because I probably would not notice that money is gone especially if I knew my money would be helping the less fortunate In the long run. Like it said in the article there are people struggling to buy food. Keep a place to live. And keep cars. If I were rich I would contribute all the time especially when taking on higher taxes.

I just read an article by rand corp, which suggest that teens that watch a lot of TV are more likely to get pregnant. It says that the teens are influenced by the TV shows especially the ones that contain sexual content. I strongly disagree with this article. I personally believe it has a big deal to do with the parents. If the parents were educating the children on these things then teen pregnancy rates would not be high. If the parents inform they’re children then the children would not be as curious to do something that is wrong because they know the consequences. My self personally growing up had parents to tell me what I needed to know and since then I have been on the right path with that matter. I knew whatever I saw on TV was wrong when I saw it because my parents taught me wrong from right. I believe that if I child wants to do something they will do it. TV plays a role now and days but I believe it more so depends on the child. I watched TV and played a lot of video games as a child and none of them ever inspired me to go out and imitate what I saw. The poll was done on kids 12-17 years of age. I agree with the end of the article when the author says ‘if we focused on what the youth does and does not know about sexuality instead of how much TV they watch then wed see some real change’. I personally could not agree anymore about that statement. Who ever conducted the survey needs to find out how much the kids know about sexuality and where did they learn it from and the information would be more accurate.
